Rethinking UX and UIs for better, faster and visually updated daily operations.
I Was hired by BK’s software company to rethink their complete User Experience integrating 3 different systems and its features. I had also the happy chance to implement Burger King new visual identity into a real product — just as internal people were eager to see.
BESIDES THE natural outdating the previous site/system was built under no branding guidance. And it was not the only one. BK Brasil had several different tools in use by the people on Operations. This divergent universe was not only generating stress but was also affecting Business data security. To make things worst, design for Mobile was never considered before.
My challenge here was to balance the vivid Branding with a heavy-content Information Architecture, when considering user journeys. People spend most of their days at this tool. It must be improved and expanded, with a Responsive Design.
As there were previous versions I used them as my wireframes. Then I sketched navigation options to gather all sections and departments into a single Header, with an enabled Mega Menu and a powerful Search component.
Besides general definitions I created a Homepage with editable links to most-used sections workings as cards. These cards would be displayed not only as clickable anchors but also with some content and actions allowed right-in-place. The overall design decisions provided the final tool an engaging ‘custom’ personality — something that pleased stakeholders and users alike.
I supervise HR folks and take care of employees schedule at the franchised store I work. Any improvements on the current tool will be welcome, specially considering the Calendar section.
My work is to control stock counting and the current tool makes me loose too much time with it. Specially because I still need to fulfill loads of paperwork afterwards at the BK store .
As the general manager of the store I do a lot of stuff. But when considering the Ops System what I do most is to check and put to use Marketing announcements. But If I could ask for a feature I'd love tobe able to contact Global BK Departments by this tool.
This is the kind of project that hardly ends. Just as components are constantly being generated into the system more flexibility can be added by allowing smart color and image combination to be chosen by users in order to make BK Ops their own workplace.
